Chapter 13


Sidharth was shocked hearing about the cops in the doorstep. He regained his normalcy and asked, “Is that Inspector Mahadev?”

Prathap answered, “I don’t think so.. Yet to check who is in.. I just saw the SUV entering inside our building”

“Ok… There is nothing to be worried here…Take the cop inside and I will talk to him. If he asks any questions, I will answer him. I want the rest to be silent and not to intrude. Where is Chandrika and Chang Lee?”

“They are in their respective rooms”

“Ok”

Once Sidharth finished his sentence, the calling bell rang.
“Prathap… Allow them in”

Prathap left the room and Sabari was in a tense mood. He turned to Sidharth and said, “Sir… why should cops visit here? Do they know that we are here?”

“First let them come in.. Let them tell why they are here”

In the next minute, Prathap entered the room followed by a young policeman. He turned to Sidharth and said, “Hello Sir.. I’m Pankaj. I took charge as the Inspector for this area last week.”

Sidharth smiled at him and said, “Oh Nice…Pankaj!!… Please take your seat”. And he showed the couch opposite to him.

“Thanks”

Inspector Pankaj occupied the seat. Sidharth asked, “Yes Pankaj.. How can I help you?”

“Nothing specific sir… I have been surveilling this area quite often. I saw posh cars parked near this building, which is unusual. So I thought of doing a quick visit. And it is my job to know who the owner of the building is”

“Oh ya.. Sure… I’m Sidharth… Managing Director of ‘BioSpace Technologies’. And I have Prathap and Sabari working for my organization. I don’t live here. I visit here rarely whenever I have any business meetings. Whenever I visit, I leave before 5 PM and don’t stay overnight.”

“Do you have any security for this building?”

“I had a guy, Rampal, till a few months back. But he left sighting some health concerns. I haven’t appointed anyone yet.”

“I will recommend getting a security as soon as possible. Any empty building has the risk of anti-social elements. It might turn as a headache for you”

“You are right inspector. I will appoint one as soon as I can”

“Great.. Thanks.. That is all I have.. Bye sir”

Pankaj rose from the couch.
Sidharth turned to Inspector Pankaj and said, “Inspector.. Sorry!! I forgot to check whether you need something to drink.. “

“That is ok.. I’m fine.. All I wanted to know is who owns this building.. I got the answer now.. “

“One humble request. Until I find a security, please keep an eye on this building while you come around”

“Oh sure.. Will do”

“Thanks… “

Inspector Pankaj left the room followed by Prathap. Prathap returned in the next minute.

Sidharth turned to Prathap and asked, “Is he gone?”

“Yes sir”

“This is the first time ever a cop has entered this building”

“Sir.. I think that this is just a casual visit without any agenda. Any new inspector would like to know about the surroundings. ”

“But still we shouldn’t take anything lighter”

“Right… Got your message sir”

Just then, Sabari’s mobile phone rang. The call was from his wife. Sabari turned to Sidharth and said, “Sir… I have to take this call.. Its from my wife”

“Oh ya please go ahead… May be she is expecting you for lunch.. By the way, don’t let the news about the necklace. Keep it with you until you reach home. She may be surprised when you gift it at home”

“That’s right ..”

Sabari walked out of the room and attended the call.
“Yes Ananya.. Tell me”

“I have no stories to say here Mr. Sabari… Do you know what the time is?”

Sabari looked at his wrist watch and said, “It is 2:20 PM”

“Do you know that I have prepared lunch for you already?”

“Oh yes… I will be there for lunch for sure… Have started just now”

“I’m hungry”

“You start.. I will join you shortly”

“Nope.. I will wait for you”

“Come on Ananya… I just started and will take some time to reach home”

“How long?”

“One hour”

“One hour is ok.. I can wait”

“Here is the deal. Once I reach home, you must have finished the lunch. If that happens, I’m gonna gift you something and there is a good news too”

“Gift?”

“Yes”

“I know your agenda. You are tricking me to have my lunch.. It won’t work”

“Hey I promise”

“Ok then.. I will have lunch now.. Not for your gift but to hear the so called good news”

“That is cool… Love you”

“Did you say it will take an hour?”

“Yes.. “

“Ok then.. Bye now.. “

Before Sabari was about to disconnect the call, the voice from Ananya became slight feeble. Ananya in the background said, “Looks like it will take an hour”

Another voice followed, “Good for us” and it was the voice of a male.

Once I came to know about the Bionic project from my sources, I wanted to meet you personally and discuss. All my attempts failed.
