Chapter 37

Sabari compelled a smile at Ananya and said, “What did you say?”

“Oh ya.. Didn’t you hear that… We were over-confident that no one would watch us destroying Vasu’s body. In a matter of few hours, the cops were able to locate the exact spot where we disposed the body. And now, they have reached our door asking to postmortem the mud samples and cloth particles. You are compelled to find out which microorganisms have been used.”

“Exactly… All we have to report is which microorganism has caused this chemical reaction. It doesn’t prove that we are the one who did that.”

“It won’t be long before when the cops unearth the truth. An anonymous person had been watching us in the spot and reported to the cops. Another one has captured everything as a video and sent it as a short film. Moreover, he has invited us to his home. Aren’t you convinced yet that we are surrounded by threats?”

“Oh ya.. I don’t deny that we are in a spin”

“That is what I see… I can still feel that you are too casual…”

“The cops were here ONLY to take help from me. Not to make us confess Vasudharini’s murder.”

“What if that guy Prasanna report us to the cops?”

“He won’t”

“How sure are you?”

“His intention is something different”

“If not that, what is his intention?”

“He doesn’t want anyone else to know about Vasudharini or that she staying here. ”

“Uhh… But why?”

“May be, he might be the one who killed Vasudharini…”

Ananya was astonished at Sabari’s statement and said, “You sound as if you saw that with your own eyes. Why should he kill her?”

“We will know the answer when we meet him today at 5:30 PM. I suspect that he may use that video to get additional benefits from us”

“Hmm… This doesn’t look good at all.. You are talking as if you have known Prasanna for a long time.”

“They are all my guesses and I have my own reasons.. Did you notice something?”

“What?”

“When I returned back from Prathap’s residence, you were in the hospital with Abilash. When I entered home, I saw Vasudharini killed in our bedroom. At the same time, I also saw someone running outside through the entrance.  Before I could figure out who that was, he escaped.”

“Ok.. So, you suspect that it could be Prasanna…right?”

 “That’s right. He might have  wondered what we would do with the dead body and followed us the whole night. Somehow, he might have known that we are going to dispose the body and followed us to the spot. Using a hideout near the building, he might have recorded the video of us.”

Ananya shrugged off her shoulders and said, “I don’t know Sabari… Not sure whether all those you stated are true.. “

“We will know the answers only when we meet him today evening. The million dollar question I have now is what he wants from me…”

“How are you going to manage Inspector Mahadev?”

“I will provide him what he asked for”

“The report?”

“Ya”

“It is going to be a false report… correct?”’

“No… The actual one…”

“Actual one??”

“My report will state that the product was the result of the microorganism, ‘Yersinia pestis’”

“If you do so, the cops will come to know the truth that a dead body was destroyed.”

“Yup.. I know… Only If I do so, the cops will not suspect me… Now, Let us do this… “

“What?”

“This is pending for a long time.. I want you to destroy Vasudharini’s sim card. We are in danger until we keep it alive”

“Ok… “

Ananya instantaneously walked to the washroom to take the acid. She then took the simcard along with her and went to the backyard.

Sabari was seated in the couch with his eyes closed. After ten minutes, Ananya came to the hall.

“Sabari!!! It is done… “

“Ok good… Now… Call Abilash and check whether Vasudharini reached the hospital. Talk normal.. “

“Sabari!!! Let him call me.. Why should I?”

 “You should understand something… We should show that we are concerned about Vasudharini… It is better you call him to check”

Ananya took her mobile and dialed Abilash’s number. The call was picked up immediately..

“Hi Abilash.. Ananya here… “

“HI Ananya.. “

“Did Vasu reach the hospital?”

“Actually I called you to inform you something“

“Why? What happened?”

“Vasu didn’t reach the hospital yet….. But….“

 “But what??”

“She called me ten minutes back…”

Once I came to know about the Bionic project from my sources, I wanted to meet you personally and discuss. All my attempts failed. I was surprised when I came to know that your wife Ananya is Vasudharini’s close friend. That was enough for me to take it forward. And I had to tell Vasu about my plans.
