“Who is Vasudharini?”

The question from the nurse gave a speechless moment for Sabari and Ananya. Sabari quickly recovered from the shock.

“Vasudharini??”

“Yes sir”

Sabari imitated to recollect something out of his head and replied, “Hmm.. Not sure sister.. Why are you asking this?”

“When the patient was out of coma for a minute, I was the one who was nearby. He jabbered a few words. Out of the few words, most of them weren’t clear. The only word that I could hear was ‘Vasudharini’. That’s why I asked you that question”

Ananya joined the conversation.

“Sister!!! Do you remember any other words from his conversation?”

“Not really madam. He was speaking in long sentences. May be, he was in a hurry to speak up everything he wanted to, but ended up speaking in blocks. The only word that I heard clearly was ‘Vasudharini’ “

“Are you sure it was that or something else?”

“I’m very sure”

“But…. We don’t know anyone by that name”

After a couple of seconds of silence, the nurse continued, “Could that be someone from his family? Where is his family?”

“Thangaraj doesn’t have a family. He is a gem of a person and was living alone. He doesn’t deserve this”

The doctor said, “I also wanted to tell you this. Thangaraj had a heavy blow on his head. There is a blood injury of two inches of length. You brought him at the right time and have almost saved him. If you were late, he would have gone into a ‘Brain Dead’ situation. If you really want to find the person who attacked him, we have to inform the cops”

“No doctor.. I don’t want the cops to be involved”

“Why do you say that?”

“I’m a research scholar in a Bio-Tech company and involved in one of the most important projects of my company. There are efforts to create hindrance to the project by our competitors. The person who had attacked security Thangaraj may be a petty thief. If at all this incident is reported to the cops, my organization would suspect me with doubtful eyes. As a result of that, I might lose this project and it may be handed over to a different research scholar.”

The duty doctor heard Sabari’s statement keenly and smiled at him.

“Ok Mr. Sabari.. As of now, I’m ok. But I want you to talk to the Chief doctor on this..”

“Sure.. I will talk to Doctor Saravanan tomorrow morning”

“Ok then.. It is already too late for you. You can take leave.. We will take care of him”

“Thanks Doctor”

Sabari and Ananya left the ICU and walked out through the corridor.

Sabari said, “Ananya!!! The count of stories and lies is getting steep”

“Do we have a choice?”

“Actually Thangaraj had tried to talk about the attack on your friend Vasudharini. How does he know that she is your friend?”

“She has been visiting home along with Abilash for the past few days. So, he definitely knows her”

“Now we have stated that we don’t know who Vasudharini is… It might be a problem for us in the coming days”

“We don’t have time to think about what happens tomorrow. All we have to do is, do something, to not get into trouble for the moment”

Both walked out of the hospital. The sky had just started throwing some bright lights without the sun. Sabari got into the car and when he was about to start the car, his mobile phone rang. The displayed showed that it was his MD Sidharth.

Sabari picked up the call.

“Hello sir.. Good morning”

“Hey Sabari!!! Good morning… I know it is too early, but I didn’t have any other choice but to bother you. Did I wake you up from your slumber?”

“Not at all sir… Prathap sir’s murder didn’t get away from my mind. I tried to sleep after taking a couple of sleeping pills. But, that didn’t help either”

“Sabari!!! Listen… I strongly feel that an anonymous corporate is behind all these, doing all they can to stop our Bionic Research project.  And I suspect that they have hired a sophisticated paid killers to kill Prathap. You and me may be part of their hit list too.  More than myself, you have to be even more cautious.”

“Sir!! I don’t think so.. Nothing can happen to me”

“No.. No.. You shouldn’t be over confident. I feel that your life is in danger every minute you are here in India.” 

Sabari was shocked for a moment.

“What do you mean sir?”

“Yes.. I want you to move out of India soon”

“Sorry sir.. I don’t want to do that now.. We need to find out the Prathap’s killers even before the cops does.”

“This is not the time to imitate the heroes from the movies. The success of our project depends on you. I want you to move to a country outside India for a month. Once the conditions here gets better you can return back.”

“Where do you want me to move? Any suggestions in your mind?”

“Thailand… I have a close friend of mine in Bangkok. He will make arrangements for your stay. We will talk again..”

The call was disconnected and Sabari looked perplexed. Ananya who was seated in the front passenger seat read his face.

“Was that your MD on phone?”

“Ya…”

“What did he say to bother you?”

“He wants me to go to Thailand for a couple of days…”

Ananya instantaneously became furious.

“This is really getting on my nerve. If you travel, how will I manage Vasu’s issue and especially Abilash. I cannot manage all these. Let me accompany you”

 “If you travel with me, how can we handle Abilash, when he asks for Vasudharini…Think about it”

Ananya was stunned hearing Sabari’s statement.
