Chapter 26

Ananya used her sharp nails to open the lid of the box. The box had a glass container with a yellow solution covered by cotton.

Ananya turned to Sabari and asked, “Sabari!!! What solution is this?”

“Get me the container… Be careful while you take it from the box”

Ananya took the container and held it right in front of her eyes. The solution glittered in yellow.

Sabari said, “This is yellow formalin fluid and might be crystal clear in light. But this solution has millions of ‘Yersinia pestis’ bacteria in it. This will help us to dispose Vasudharini’s dead body.”

Ananya, like any day, looked confused hearing that. At the same time, she was curious how it works.

“I.. I couldn’t understand any”

“Never mind.. Just get out of the car with the solution. Be careful while you do it.. “

Ananya came out of the car with the container. With a perplexed look, she looked around. It was completely dark with only the lights from the buildings.

Sabari too came out of the car. After confirming that they are not being watched, he opened the trunk. He pulled out the blanket that wrapped Vasudharini’s body and uncovered it. Vasudharini’s blood soaked face was visible in the thin lightings. The blood strains had spread along her body.

Sabari, without looking around called, “Ananya!!!”

“I’m standing right behind you…”

“Give me the solution and get the canned water from the trunk”

“Ya… This is crazy… For the next ten minutes, don’t ask any questions… I will explain in detail later on.. Now!!! Bring me the canned water.”

Ananya walked to the car trunk and pulled out the can with all her strength. She dragged it and placed it next to Sabari.

Sabari opened the canned water and emptied the solution from the container into the can. He looked around cautiously and stirred the water, so that the solution is completely dissolved.

Sabari turned to Ananya and said, “Ananya!!! I want you to move couple of steps back..”

“Ok!!! What are you gonna do now?”

Sabari looked at her and replied, “Vasudharini is going to have a ‘Bacteria Bath’ “

Sabari lifted the can and emptied the water from it on to Vasudharini’s dead body from top to bottom. He threw the can into the trunk and dragged the dead body. He dragged the body and dropped it into one of the deep pits, dug for raising the pillar. Vasudharini’s body fell into the pit with a thud.

Ananya walked to him and held his shoulders from behind. She peeped into the pit to check the body.

“Sabari??”’

“Ya??”

“Should we close the pit?”

“We need not… ‘Yersinia pestis’ will do the rest.”

Ananya scratched her and said, “What does it do exactly?”

“In the next two hours, the bacteria will spread all over the body and will destroy it completely. It will exist for a couple of days and will die.”

“I… I cannot believe it”

“These are modern Bio-Technology and not the same bacteria that you read it schools. And you know? The one that I’m working is on ‘Bio-Weapon’ bacteria. The ‘Yersinia pestis’ is a kind of bacteria that destroys any human or animal’s body in hours. We can come here tomorrow morning to confirm whether my statements are correct.”

While Sabari was speaking, he stopped talking abruptly and looked around. He came closer to Ananya and whisphered, “Ananya?”

“hmm??”

“Did you hear that noise?”

“Like what?”

“Noise of someone sneezing or coughing”

Sabari looked around in all possible directions with his eagle eyes. He couldn’t find any traces of humans.

Ananya asked, “Are you saying that someone is watching us?”

Sabari and Ananya rushed to the car sweating. They jumped into the car. The car came out of the building and picked up speed. In the next couple of minutes, Ananya’s mobile phone rang. The call was from the hospital where Abilash was admitted. Ananya attended the call.

“Hello??”

“Hi Ananya.. This is Doctor Balaji”

“Hello Doctor.. “

“Abilash wanted to talk to you… Shall I handover the phone to him?”

Ananya was confused and asked, “Regarding?”

“I know that this is a wrong time and believe me, I did tell him that he shouldn’t be bothering you. But seems like he wanted to talk about something that is important”

Ananya hesitated for a second and replied, “That is ok doctor.. Please handover the phone to him”

“Sure”

Ananya switched on the speaker in her mobile and in couple of seconds, Ananya heard Abilash’s voice on phone.

“Ananya?”

“Hi Abilash.. How are you feeling now? Better?”

“I’m back to normal.. Doctor said that I will be discharged at 10 AM tomorrow.”

“Ok good. Doctor said that you had something to talk about”

“Oh ya…Myself and Vasudharini need to get married the day after tomorrow… Can you please help doing the arrangements?”
