Chapter 12


Once he felt a hand on his shoulder, he turned around immediately. With the gun in his hand, he was ready to pull the trigger. When he turned around, he was shocked to see his boss Prathap. He stood with a smile.

Prathap said, “Relax Sabari.. Relax… “

Sabari, who was high on shock, was confused and angled the gun again towards Chang Lee and Chandrika.
“It is over dude… There is no necessity to be high on anger”

“Sir... These guys... Do you know what they did? You know something… “

Sabari stammered and was not in control.
Prathap turned to Sabari and said, “Sabari… Can you handover the gun to me? It is not needed anymore… And it won’t help you. It is a dummy pistol without any bullets in it”

“What do you mean sir?”

“I would say that all the incidents happened until a few seconds back are not real… “

“Sir??”

“Both Chang Lee and Chandrika are colleagues from Pune”

Chang Lee and Chandrika walked towards Sabari with a smile. They shook hands and said ‘Sorry’.
Sabari’s confusion persisted and asked Prathap, “What was the need to stage such a drama?”

“To know your reaction in these kind of unprecedented scenarios”

“I’m still not clear sir”

“I will explain… “

Just then, the company’s MD Mr. Sidharth entered the room dressed in a suit. He walked towards Sabari and shook his hand.

“Sabari… We know well about you and your loyalty. You are working hard for the past few months to get the Bionic R & D project to success. None can bribe you and you proved that you are not for sale. Though we all knew you better, our business partner was skeptical about it. So we had to stage this. All these incidents were recorded and streamed to them.”

“Sir.. But still…”

“I’m very sorry for doing this to you.. In business, we have to do this for others and obviously to prove ourselves. Don’t take this too serious..”

Sabari was satisfied with Sidharth’s explanation. He replied, “That is alright sir.. I hope I proved my worth to the company. This is a proud moment for me too”

“I’m not like anyone who just appreciate only in words… I would like to do it in a different way”

“…..”

“Ya.. You will have a gift from me”

“Sir??”

“Yes.. Follow me”

Sidharth walked out of the room followed by Sabari and Prathap. They walked through the corridor and reached another room. The room was decorated with rich interiors. Sidharth occupied a couch and turned to Sabari.
“Take your seat and get yourself comfortable”

Sabari responded, “Thanks sir.. “

“By the way, this property inherited by my wife from their ancestors. I use this for my personal purpose right now. I feel very peaceful when I visit here as the environment is pleasant.”

As Sidharth spoke, he opened a briefcase and took out a velvet case. He handed it to Sabari.
“Sabari!!! This gift is for your loyalty.. “

Sabari got it with a slight hesitation.
Sidharth said, “This is yours. Why don’t you open it and check what is inside?”

 Sabari opened it and found a glittering necklace. It was pretty new and the stones glittered more than the usual.

Sidharth said, “You cannot buy this anywhere in India. I bought it when I visited Singapore. Each and every glittering piece in this jewel is a diamond. Guess the price if you can”

Sabari smiled, nodded his head in denial and said, “Sorry sir.. Im not good enough with the knowledge of diamonds”

“The whole piece costs five million Indian rupees or 50 lakhs. I wanted to gift you after the success of this project. But situation has demanded me to do earlier than planned. Gift this to your wife. She will be happy for sure. Moreover, you have to make her happy to work peacefully in office“

“But sir… I still feel this is costlier. You are paying me already for the work I do for the company.. “

“I know your value. When compared to it, this is nothing. You don’t know about it and will get to know once you complete this project. By the way, you might have to go to Shanghai to meet our business partner Zhang Wei next month. I hope we will reach the critical milestone by then”

“That’s right sir… But we need more chimps for our research to continue”

“I will get you”
